As the saying goes, Paris is always a good idea. I couldn't agree more. May it be for vacation, shopping, or a weekend getaway, more so if it is for a wedding, Paris will always be a good idea. They call it the City of Love for a reason. Every year, a lot of couples come here to propose, do wedding photoshoots and even elope.
Not only it is known for being a romantic city, but it is also the home of Haute Couture. That is why I never had second thoughts of wearing Maë Collection Paris. Her elegant designs execute a classic Parisienne bride. I visited their showroom and had a chance to see all her collections and boy it was magical. From flower girls, bridesmaids and the bride, they have a whole range of designs. They can even custom make your dream wedding dress.
After seeing their range of bridal dresses, I fell in love with Althea and Angelina, both from their Parisienne Collection. I have always dreamed of a fairytale wedding, and the Althea gown will make you feel and look like a Princess on your big day. One thing I like about this particular dress is its versatile design. It has a detachable royal train that extends long enough to cover the stairs of the Pavillon Colvert at the Louvre during our bridal photoshoot. The fabric of the train is fully embroidered on the edges which will make you a stunning bride while you walk the aisle. Should you choose to wear this dress on your big day, you won't need to purchase another dress for the reception since you can easily detach it and turn your bridal gown into a gorgeous long cocktail dress. It's fully beaded detail is equally stunning even without the train. The sultry low back detail with its straps that are almost invisible will accentuate those toned arms and back.
On the other hand, if you are that type of a bride who loves classic design, the Angelina dress will suit you perfectly. I chose this dress because of its mermaid silhouette that will surely emphasize the shape of my body. This dress has a Cathedral train and a beaded lace applique back detail. Its laced shoulder can be worn over or off the shoulder. This will be perfect if you are having an outdoor wedding as it gives you an aura of that glowing bride.
During our showroom visit, I was so delighted to meet with Maëva, the creator behind these beautiful gowns. We had a good chat with her and her assistant who showed me every detail of her creations. Her tall physique and gorgeous face have an aura of a runway model. She mentioned that she has a new collection release around late September after the fashion week and I am already counting the days to see her new designs on the runway.
This beautiful city is so photogenic in all aspect. Every corner has its uniqueness and character. The Eiffel tower, of course, is a staple in every bridal or wedding photoshoot. But believe or not, there are more places to shoot aside from the Trocadero. Thanks to the hospitality of the Renaissance Republique Hotel who gave us private access to their breathtaking rooftop which has the 360 view of Paris as well as the Eiffel tower. Their spiral staircase is the epitome of modern luxury. Aside from the beautiful aesthetic of their lobby, they also have a restaurant which is a great place to grab that happy hour drink. What stood out the most is the warm welcome of their staffs and impeccable service. Cheers to Laurine and Gloria who made this rooftop shoot possible.
Lastly, being the hub of beautiful creators, Paris has a lot of amazing photographers. I was thrilled to have worked with Linh, the co-founder of Through the Glass, and his assistant who worked so hard to capture these amazing photos. The weather may not be the greatest during the shoot, but with their experience and creativity, we were able to achieve what we have envisioned.
